Medical Waste Disposal in Savannah, GA

EnviCare medical waste service map highlighting statewide Georgia coverage, with the Cartersville CareCenter and CareExchange locations across the Southeast

Statewide Georgia pickup with local routes serving Savannah, Chatham County and the coast.

One provider across 7 states and North Florida.

From the hospital campuses in Midtown and on the south side to the fast-growing medical offices in Pooler, Richmond Hill and Rincon, Savannah generates a steady stream of regulated waste. EnviCare picks it up. We're a Southeast medical waste company headquartered at our Cartersville CareCenter, and our Georgia routes run statewide, from the North Georgia mountains to the coast. A single-dentist office gets the same scheduled pickup, containers and paperwork as a multi-site physician group.

Coastal Georgia's Medical Hub

Two health systems anchor healthcare on the Georgia coast:

  • Memorial Health University Medical Center on Waters Avenue is an HCA Healthcare teaching hospital and the region's Level I trauma center. Mercer University School of Medicine's Savannah campus is also here.

  • St. Joseph's/Candler operates St. Joseph's Hospital on the south side and Candler Hospital in Midtown. Founded in 1804, Candler is Georgia's first hospital.

Around those campuses are the facilities that make up most of the area's waste generators: physician and specialty practices, surgery centers, urgent care clinics, dialysis centers, dental and oral surgery offices, veterinary hospitals, labs, pharmacies, and nursing homes. Each one has a different volume and mix of waste, and we set up service around what you actually generate, not a one-size package.

Services for Savannah Healthcare Facilities

Biohazardous and regulated waste

  • Regulated medical waste pickup: blood-contaminated dressings, PPE, suction canisters, tubing and other infectious waste, collected on a schedule sized to your volume.

  • Sharps disposal: enroll in our reusable sharps container program, or use disposable sharps containers, which you can also order through the EnviCare shop.

  • Trace chemotherapy waste: yellow trace-chemo containers for empty IV bags, vials, tubing, gloves and gowns from infusion and oncology suites.

  • Pharmaceutical waste disposal: scheduled pickup of non-hazardous pharmaceuticals, plus pharmaceutical mail-back kits for clinics with smaller volumes.

Records and data

  • NAID AAA certified document destruction: scheduled paper shredding with a certificate of destruction, plus large paper purges and secure document storage.

  • E-waste recycling and hard drive destruction. Hard drives are hole-punched and documented with a certificate of destruction.

Staff compliance

  • OSHA and HIPAA compliance training delivered online, so your Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Communication and HIPAA records stay current.

One Provider on Both Sides of the River

Many Savannah practices also run locations in Bluffton, Hilton Head Island or Hardeeville. EnviCare covers Georgia and South Carolina statewide, along with Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, Louisiana and North Florida. That lets a group with offices on both sides of the Savannah River use one vendor, one point of contact and one consistent set of records.

When the job is bigger than a routine pickup, such as a practice closing, a records room cleanout after a merger, or a hospital department moving buildings, we can bring tractor-trailer capacity instead of a route truck.

Areas We Serve Around Savannah

  • Effingham County: Rincon, Springfield and Guyton

  • Bryan County: Richmond Hill and Pembroke

  • Liberty County: Hinesville and Midway

  • Bulloch County: Statesboro

Georgia Compliance, Briefly

Georgia regulates biomedical waste under Georgia EPD Rule 391-3-4-.15. It requires waste to be segregated where it's generated, sharps to go in rigid, puncture-resistant containers, and waste to be handed only to an authorized collector. Your South Carolina locations follow South Carolina's rules. For a plain-English summary of the Georgia rule, see our Georgia medical waste services page. Savannah Medical Waste FAQ

Is EnviCare a local Savannah company?

EnviCare is a regional Southeast company. Our headquarters and plant are at the Cartersville CareCenter in Georgia, with local CareExchanges in Augusta and Thomasville. Savannah is on our statewide Georgia route network, so you work with an established regional operation, not a one-truck local hauler.

Can one account cover our Savannah and Bluffton offices?

Yes. We serve South Carolina statewide, so Georgia and South Carolina locations can be on one account with one point of contact.

Do you offer sharps mail-back?

No. Sharps are handled through scheduled pickup, either with our reusable sharps container program or with disposable containers. Our mail-back program is for pharmaceuticals only.

How often will you pick up?

It depends on how much you generate. Most clients choose weekly, every-other-week or monthly pickup, and lower-volume offices can schedule on call. We'll recommend a frequency when you request a quote.
